Glocal Aid runs multiple schools in India with the goal of helping the families that doesn’t have the opportunity to send their kids to school. The Ebenezer school has around 500 pupils whereas 40% are girls. We travelled to the small village of Karwi in India to tell a story of the life of one of the families that Glocal Aid has helped. The aim was to provide the audience with a better understanding of the the everyday life of one the families in Karwi. It was important to show that even though we live in different parts of the world, how we lead our lives are still the same. Despite the kilometres, weather, culture and language, it’s not an alien world. We all brush our teeth, go to work and school and eat dinner together.
The film was presented during a charity event in Stockholm to support the project and the film contributed in the collection of multiple millions Norwegian kroners to support the project. Glocal Aid has decided to open two new schools with the aim of empowering 2000 children over the next three years.
